Moscow

Moscow is the capital of our country. It is the administrative, economic, political and educational center of Russia. Moscow has a population of about 9 million people. The history of Moscow began in the year 1147. Present-day Moscow is the seat of the government of Russia. The President of Russia lives and works here. Moscow is not only a political center. It is also the center of industrial and cultural life of Russia. Moscow has thousands of factories. What they manufacture is not only used in the capital city. Different machines, cars, watches, clothes, toys and very many other things are shipped to all parts of the country. There are a lot of libraries in Moscow. The state library is one of the biggest in the world. The museums, art galleries, theatres and monuments make our capital a world cultural center. Every day thousands of people visit the Memorial of the Great Patriotic War, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the Tretyakov Gallery. Moscow is also a great transport center. Trains and planes come to the capital every day from all parts of Russia and from other countries. Our capital is a port of five seas. We are proud of Moscow.
